The last thing he remembered doing was heading off to get ready for his next scene.

At the moment, he was suddenly aware that he was lying on his back, feeling very sore, especially his shoulder, and he couldn't see anything, presumably because it was dark.

And he felt... strange. It was hard to explain. But then, maybe that was just a concussion. He definitely felt fuzzy enough to have a concussion.

He wasn't aware of it yet, but there was a slow trickle of blood running down the side of his face. He looked alright otherwise, though he was definitely going to have a lot of bruises.

It was an alley, not far from the club, and it was a cloudy night. It was probably a lucky thing for him that he was close to the club, since if he'd been anywhere else he probably would have already been picked up by some of Shadow's less trustworthy residents.
lost_sumeragi on May 17th, 2006 05:30 am (UTC)
Oddly, or maybe not so oddly, it was Subaru who found him. He wasn't really sure how he'd gotten here, to be honest. He had been out on a job, and it had turned out to be harder than he had been expecting...

He'd been rather tired and out of it as he started to make his way home, and he supposed he'd gotten lost somehow. He was fine now, though he still had no idea where he was, or how to get back. He found the other man by the simple expedient of tripping over him, which landed Subaru right on top of him in a rather compromising position.

"Oh! Gomen nasai, I didn't see- Seishirou-san?!"
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 17th, 2006 05:53 am (UTC)
Ken winced a little. Something, no, someone had just tripped over him and was now sprawled out on top of him. Whoever it was, they weren't very heavy, though, so it wasn't as bad as it could have been.

"Ugh..." His head was starting to hurt, and now that he could see a face in front of him, it was sort of hazy and spinning. He couldn't make out what the boy was saying, but the voice was definitely familiar. "...What?"

Unknown to him, an eagle shikigami was perched on an overhang nearby, watching him with a piercing gaze, its head tilted to one side slightly.
lost_sumeragi on May 17th, 2006 07:23 am (UTC)
"Seishirou-san, you're bleeding," Subaru said in dismay, pushing himself up so he was kneeling over the older man. He was so busy being concerned that it didn't occur to him just how this looked. Subaru pulled his jacket off and started ripping strips off it to clean and bandage the wound.

"I hope you haven't got a concussion... It's too dark for me to see your pupils. Anou... How many fingers am I holding up?"

He lifted three fingers in front of Ken's face, looking worried.
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 17th, 2006 08:59 am (UTC)
"Three... I think." Ken felt as though he was missing something, but he still couldn't think clearly. He was starting to see better, at least, and he was more aware of what was going on.

It was about then that he realized that Subaru was practically straddling his hips. He managed not to blush, and immediately tried to focus on something other than the fact that a very pretty boy was... er...
lost_sumeragi on May 17th, 2006 07:31 pm (UTC)
Subaru sighed with relief, discarding the torn remains of his jacket.

"That's right. Good, it's probably not too bad. Do you think you can sit up?"

It was at this point that it occured to him that no, the other man couldn't sit up with Subaru still on top of him. That immediately led to Subaru realizing that he was still on top of him, and in exactly what position.

Subaru promptly squeaked in dismay and scrambled back off Ken, hands flying up in an attempt to cover his furious blush.
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 17th, 2006 10:42 pm (UTC)
Ken smiled despite his headache as he slowly pushed himself up into a sitting position. Subaru was so cute, especially when he blushed like that.

"I'll be fine." He reached up to touch the make-shift bandages on his head. "I'm sorry, I have no idea what happened to me."
lost_sumeragi on May 18th, 2006 02:36 am (UTC)
"It's strange. I don't know how I got here, either," Subaru admitted, frowning a little. "I got lost heading home from a job, and now I'm here... But this doesn't look like anywhere in Tokyo. Hokuto-chan's going to be worried sick."

"You're sure you're okay, Seishirou-san?"
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 18th, 2006 04:19 am (UTC)
"I'll take a visit to the doctor just to make sure, since I apparently did hit my head on something, but I'll be fine..."

He trailed off abruptly. Seishirou-san?

That's when it finally occured to him that Issei, or who he'd thought was Issei, had been calling him Seishirou all along. And now that he could see him properly, he could tell that he was wearing a strange outfit, too.

What was even stranger was that he nearly called the boy Subaru-kun.

Maybe he'd hit his head harder than he thought, and this was some kind of hallucination. Surely this wasn't just some trick... Issei would never go along with it, if it was.

Strange. If it was a dream, why did his head hurt? And why did he feel like he was being watched all of a sudden?

"Hokuto-chan?" He asked dazedly. He knew that name, too...
lost_sumeragi on May 18th, 2006 05:24 am (UTC)
"My sister," Subaru said slowly, leaning forward to examine his face worriedly. "Are you sure you're okay, Seishirou-san?"

Maybe he ought to send his shiki out to look around. A doctor was sounding more and more like a very good idea, if they could find one in this odd place.
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 18th, 2006 07:54 am (UTC)
His sister. Of course. His twin sister... They looked very much alike.

Except they weren't really twins. They weren't really brother and sister, they were just cast that way, Ken reminded himself.

"What about you? Are you alright?" He asked, suddenly wondering if Issei hadn't been in the same accident. Maybe. It seemed like a pretty far stretch, for him to be acting like this, but maybe.
lost_sumeragi on May 18th, 2006 08:21 am (UTC)
Subaru blinked at him.

"I'm fine. I was having a little bit of trouble with sakanagi earlier, but it's strange, it went away about the same time I found myself here."
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 18th, 2006 09:11 am (UTC)
Sakanagi. The power of a spell will rebound at equal power to the one who casts it.

The explanation came before he even had a chance to ask, and he had no idea where from.

I read the manga, that must be where I remembered it from, he told himself, shaking his head. That turned out to be a bad idea, as he winced and nearly gasped at the sudden sharp pain.
lost_sumeragi on May 18th, 2006 08:00 pm (UTC)
"Seishirou-san! Be careful, please!" Subaru gasped, reaching over to steady him. "Maybe we should try to find you a doctor, you really don't look too good..."
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 18th, 2006 11:05 pm (UTC)
Ken was going to agree with him, but suddenly he felt himself sinking back into the same blackness that he'd left just a few moments before. Dammit.

Subaru was going to be hysterical. If it really was Subaru, the poor kid hardly deserved it.

Unfortunately he wasn't being given a choice in the matter.

Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 19th, 2006 02:04 am (UTC)
Ken was only out for a minute and a half or so, though it felt like it had been much longer to him. He opened his eyes slowly, feeling disoriented. Again.

The Tree...
lost_sumeragi on May 19th, 2006 04:41 am (UTC)
In the intervening time, Subaru had... Well, mostly he had panicked, but he'd also sent his shiki out with instructions to look for someone who could help.

He'd also caught Ken when he fell, but given the fact that he was both taller and heavier than the very slightly built Subaru, that mostly meant he had cushioned him, and was now sort of half-sprawled with Ken's head resting against his chest.

Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 19th, 2006 06:05 am (UTC)
Ken winced, but managed to pull himself up a little so that he wasn't quite squishing Subaru. "Don't worry, Subaru, I'm alright."

He didn't feel alright at all, though.
_zaelia_ on May 19th, 2006 11:30 pm (UTC)
Zaelia, in the usual form of a little girl, peered around the corner and into the alley.

"Oh, my," she said, frowning. A black cat trotted out in front of her and into the alley, as if she had business there anyway. "That was your crow, wasn't it?" She added, looking at Subaru.
lost_sumeragi on May 19th, 2006 11:44 pm (UTC)
"You passed out," Subaru protested. At Zaelia's appearance and question, he blinked.

"Yes, it was. I wasn't expecting anyone to actually see it."
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 20th, 2006 01:16 am (UTC)
"I know," Ken murmured. There wasn't much else he could say to that. He wasn't sure who was at the end of the alley, but it sounded like a little girl.

Sounded like one, but felt... strange.
_zaelia_ on May 20th, 2006 01:28 am (UTC)
Zaelia smiled as she walked over and knelt down next to them, absently folding her dress under herself as she did. "I can see many things, including spirit animals. May I have a look at your friend here?"

The cat sat down nearby, watching them.
lost_sumeragi on May 20th, 2006 02:58 am (UTC)
"Please, if you believe you can help, I would appreciate it," Subaru said, inclining his head in the best bow he could manage while holding Ken. He considered asking her what she was, since she certainly wasn't human with that feel to her...

But that wouldn't be polite.
_zaelia_ on May 20th, 2006 04:13 am (UTC)
Zaelia lifted a hand to Ken's forehead, touching two fingers lightly against his skin. A soft white glow radiated from her hand for a couple of seconds, and then she dropped her hand.

"There. Do you feel better now, Sakurazuka-san?" She asked, smiling.
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 20th, 2006 04:29 am (UTC)
Ken stared at her. "Yes... I do. Thank you." His headache was gone. His bruises and cuts were still there, but they were at least partially healed.

He felt as if she'd understood everything from the moment she'd looked in his eyes. Yet, she still called him Sakurazuka... Just like the Tree.

Please don't compare me to her. Ugh. That kind of holy magic makes my bark crawl.

He ignored the Tree for the moment.

All of this was real. He was pretty sure of that. It was too crazy to be a dream. But he didn't think that they were right about calling him Seishirou... He knew all about Seishirou, and he wasn't like that. He wasn't the perfect picture of morality that Subaru was, but there was a hell of a difference between that and what Seishirou really was.

He couldn't explain why he suddenly had these memories of Seishirou's life, or how it seemed natural to him that he should be called Seishirou, the Sakurazukamori.

There was something funny about the whole thing. He was an actor who 'pretended' to be a man who was pretending to be someone he wasn't. And now he was literally in that guy's shoes.

How was he going to explain all of this to Subaru?

What about the life he'd left behind? ... Well, to be honest, he hadn't really been happy where he was. Being a celebrity had been nice at first, but it wasn't what he wanted to be for the rest of his life.
lost_sumeragi on May 20th, 2006 05:47 am (UTC)
"Arigato gozaimasu," Subaru said earnestly, repeating the awkward sort of half-bow. Then he blushed crimson.

"Anou... Seishirou-san... Could you...?"

He waved his hands around rather vaguely, but still somehow managed to get across the point that Ken was still leaning on him. Along with the point that now that Subaru wasn't so overwhelmed with concern, embarrassment was making itself felt.
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 20th, 2006 07:45 am (UTC)
Ken smiled a bit and straightened. "Gomen, Subaru-kun."

"I'm sorry," he said, turning to Zaelia. "This really is embarrassing, all this fuss over a little bump on the head."
_zaelia_ on May 20th, 2006 07:50 am (UTC)
"Well, you know how little things like that can be dangerous sometimes," Zaelia smiled and stood, brushing off her dress. "You'll be fine, though."
lost_sumeragi on May 20th, 2006 11:29 pm (UTC)
Subaru scrambled to his feet and bowed. Several times, in fact.

"Thank you very much for your help, miss."
_zaelia_ on May 21st, 2006 12:42 am (UTC)
Zaelia smiled again and bowed in return. "It was no trouble, Sumeragi-san. Do you need any help getting home?"
lost_sumeragi on May 21st, 2006 03:33 am (UTC)
Subaru blushed, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Anou... Yes, probably. I have no idea where we are or even how I got here."
_zaelia_ on May 21st, 2006 05:32 am (UTC)
Zaelia nodded and pointed down the allery behind them. "Just keep walking straight that way. It will take you back to Tokyo."
lost_sumeragi on May 21st, 2006 10:52 pm (UTC)
Subaru glanced down the alley, then nodded. "Alright. Thank you again. Seishirou-san, do you think you can stand up?"
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 21st, 2006 11:26 pm (UTC)
Back to Tokyo? But...

How many times do I have to tell you before it will get through to you? You. Are. Seishirou. Now get off your ass and move. You should do something with that shiki, too. It's waiting.

Ken looked up, instinctively. Yes, it was there. The hawk-like creature... It was staring at him. He dismissed it without even thinking.

It came on reflex, as if he'd been...

He nodded belatedly and carefully got to his feet.
lost_sumeragi on May 21st, 2006 11:28 pm (UTC)
Subaru watched him worriedly, ready to support him if he seemed to need it.

"I'm glad you're alright, Seishirou-san. I really am very sorry I fell on you."
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 22nd, 2006 06:21 am (UTC)
"Don't be silly, Subaru-kun. It wasn't your fault that it's so dark, and you didn't hurt me."

He peered into the darkness where Zaelia had indictated that they should go.

He didn't really have much of a choice. He certainly wasn't going back where he came from, not that way. If what the Tree was telling him was right, if he didn't go there'd be a Seishirou-shaped hole in that world.

And Subaru...

Well, he'd probably have plenty of time to think about things, and staying here wouldn't do anyone any good.
lost_sumeragi on May 23rd, 2006 01:48 am (UTC)

Subaru happened to glance at his watch, and promptly freaked out. Cue panicked flailing.

"Oh no, is it really that late? Hokuto-chan is going to kill me!"
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 23rd, 2006 04:52 am (UTC)
Ken smiled. "It's my fault that you're late, you can tell her that. Hopefully she won't be too upset with me..."
lost_sumeragi on May 23rd, 2006 06:18 am (UTC)
Subaru's eyes widened and he turned bright red. He really didn't think that would be much better. Instead of a scolding for getting lost and being late, he would get relentlessly teased about Seishirou 'keeping him up late'.

"A-ano, Seishirou-san... Maybe that's not a very good idea... You know how Hokuto-chan's mind works."

If she got a full explanation, it would be even worse, because then there would be comments about being alone together in dark alleys. And Subaru losing his jacket. What she would say about Subaru falling right on top of him didn't even bear thinking about.
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 23rd, 2006 09:04 am (UTC)
Ken's smile broadened. He did know how Hokuto's mind worked. Very well, in fact.

"Well, what do you propose that we tell her?" He asked lightly.
lost_sumeragi on May 23rd, 2006 06:09 pm (UTC)
That one stumped him. He didn't really want to tell her what had happened, but he couldn't lie to her...

"Ano... Er... We could both go home, and I can tell her I got lost? Then tomorrow you can tell her you had an accident? And we could just not mention that those two things coincided?"

This was a little bit too close to deceitful for Subaru's comfort, but he was a desperate teenager. Not that he had much hope for his suggestion. Knowing Seishirou-san, he would probably insist that he couldn't possibly allow his beloved Subaru-kun to go unescorted.
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 23rd, 2006 09:24 pm (UTC)
"And let you wander home alone at this hour? No... We might as well tell her the whole truth, don't you think?" He knew that this would appeal to Subaru, no matter how much scolding or teasing might come of it.

Seishirou... Yes, he was Seishirou.

I guess the bet's going to go to the Sumeragi, then. The Tree commented dryly. You're already half in love with him, and ten times more willing to admit it than you were before.

He ignored that. Those were things he would think about later, when Subaru wasn't around.
lost_sumeragi on May 25th, 2006 03:11 am (UTC)
"I suppose we should," Subaru said, sighing a little. He brushed himself off and adjusted his hat. "This is going to be as bad as that night on Tokyo Tower, though..."

He shook himself and straightened up. "We should go. I don't like to make Hokuto-chan worry, and the later we are, the more she will."
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 25th, 2006 04:32 am (UTC)
He nodded. "Let's go, then."

((Off to?))
lost_sumeragi on May 25th, 2006 06:15 am (UTC)
Subaru looked down the alley where Zaelia had indicated, then nodded firmly and started walking.

((Um... No clue? *hides in terror from the very slightest hint of an idea of adopting a Hokuto* Just assume the rest of the night takes its expected course?))
Seishirou Sakurazukasakurazuka_kun on May 25th, 2006 08:03 am (UTC)
((Heh. I might inflict you with one, but I dunno yet. For the time being, I think we can assume that, yeah. I'll probably write a post soon in Seishirou's journal... Yes, I'm going to call him Seishirou now. It will make things less confusing for me, and you know what's going on, so no point in making things more complicated than they already are, right?))
lost_sumeragi on May 25th, 2006 05:09 pm (UTC)
